この話は殊能将之しか書けない！のキャッチコピーどおり。他の誰にも似てない話を読みたい人にはおすすめしたい。ただし、心の広い人に限るかも（笑）。文章も巧くて、すいすい読めるので物語を楽しみたい人にはぴったりではないでしょうか。最後の最後でちゃんとミステリーになっているので手前で怒って投げるのはなしで！

この作家の作品は、本格でありながらどこか斜に構えている風に見える。
それでいて例えば法月氏の作品に見られる、皮肉というか自虐的な暗さは見受けられず
極めて自然に、あるがままに受け入れているように感じられる。
他の部分でもだが、シリウスな部分を剥き出しにする事なく、オブラートに包んで軽く見せる手腕も、時に強引だけれども上手いと思う。

本作でも、亡霊の「自分を殺した犯人を見つける」といった何とも依頼な依頼を軸に話は展開していく。
７５０年前の外国人から見た「東京」の描写というのも面白く、また比較するように書かれている千葉県在住の刑事から見た東京の描写も興味深い。

前知識が無い上で語られる十字軍の話が、正直ツライかとも思うが、非常に楽しめる作品。
本格といっていい作品だが、「狭義の本格」しか楽しめない人には、「黒い仏」同様キツイのかな。

十字軍に参戦した騎士の亡霊が、現代のテーマパーク社長にとりついた！？自らの死の謎を解き明かしてほしい
というストーリーに魅せられました。
しかし、
『正統派ミステリー』
でありつつも
『アンチ名探偵モノ』
でもあるんだよね・・・
