　メフィスト賞受賞作。
　とりっきーなトリックを使っているが、メインのほうがわりとまともな本格。
　ただ、わかっちゃう人にはわかっちゃうと思う。

メフィスト賞受賞作。
歴代のメフィスト賞受賞作の中では、極めてオーソドックスかつ正統的な、いかにも新本格っぽい結構。破綻も少ないし、謎の出し方も丁寧。

著者のメフィスト賞受賞作。
　2008年には講談社文庫化もされている。
　黒田研二氏はデビュー時からこういう作風だったのだな、と感心させられる。複雑怪奇に絡み合った物語が、何層にも重なりながら展開していって、最後は「なるほど」という結末に落ち着くのだ。
　単に複雑なわけではなく、最後にきちんと「腑に落ちる」ような単純さが工夫されている。良心的な作家だ。
　物語自体は陰惨。
