カーニバル三部作の二作目・事件編です。
カーニバル三部作では、

カーニバル・イブ→犯罪オリンピックが起こるまで・いろいろと解説

カーニバル→犯罪オリンピック開催中・どのような事件か

カーニバル・デイ→犯罪オリンピックの残り・どんな背景があったか

となっていますが、このカーニバルでは、『犯罪オリンピック』が始動してから
世界各地で起こっているの事件が次々と書かれています。
しかし、解決編であるカーニバル・デイでは、ある程度まで
(とはいってもほとんどが話の外側です)は謎が解明されるのですが、
次から次へと新しい謎が出現してくるので、消化不良を起こします。
そのせいで読み終えてもすっきりしませんでした。

なので、カーニバルシリーズを読むつもりの人は、
謎が謎のままで終わることを良しとして読めるという自覚のある人だけだと思います。

どちらかといえば、ミステリよりもＪＤＣの探偵たちについて細かく書かれている気がしました。

『コズミック』『ジョーカー』は面白く読めただけに、とても残念です。

カーニバル三部作の中編。
なんか人が沢山死ぬ。謎の秘密組織が出てくる。それは別にいい。
だけど読むのが凄くしんどい。長いからしんどいというのもあるだろうけど、
説明がくどすぎたり、どうでもいい話をされてる感が強いからな気がする。
でも、これから凄い展開が待ち受けているに違いないと、期待をしながら嫌々読んでしまう。

　ここまで読んで引き返せばよかったと今でも悔しく思う。律儀に最後まで突っ走った私は馬鹿だ。
　これは三部作のちょうど中間点、絶対ここまで読んだら今後の展開に疑問を持ちたくなるはず。しかし期待してはいけない。この先に待ち受けているのは地獄の二丁目だ。
