これを読み始めた頃から何かおかしいとは思っていた。これはシリーズ全体で言えることだが、登場人物の名前は変だし設定も無理やりだし、しかし私はまだこれから始まる悪夢がどんなものであるのか、これを読み始めた時点ではまだよくわかってはいなかった。一生の不覚だ。
　私が見た悪夢を見てみたい勇気ある人はぜひどうぞ。

タイトルにカーニバル三部作の予告編とつけましたが、
内容は、『清涼院流水』が遺した原稿の中の暗号を解くことによって、
これから起こりうるであろう『犯罪オリンピック』についてＪＤＣの探偵たちが
推理をめぐらすという内容なので、本編とあまり関係はありません。
が、ＪＤＣの探偵たちについてもっと知りたい人には良いかもしれません。

また、カーニバル・デイで示される解決は、個人的にはＳＦミステリに当たる
と思っていますので、もし読むのであればそこを心に留めて読んだ方が良いと思います。

カーニバル三部作の前編にあたるこの本。
キャラクター紹介や、何かが起こりそうな予感で引っ張たり、JDC用語集等が付いてきたりする。
内容自体はキャラクターに魅力を感じたり、物語の規模の大きさに惚れたり出来れば普通に楽しめるかもしれない。
それなりに長いけどこれは地獄へのプロローグに過ぎない。
