基本的には面白かったし、
前作の続きであるということもあって
比較的容易に作品の中に入ることができた。

しかし、やはりFに比べると
何かの物足りなさを感じることは否定できないだろう。

特に僕は、前作が初めてのミステリーノベルだったために
そう言う期待のまなざしを向けずにはいられなかったのである。


だが、本来のオーソドックスなミステリーとは
こういうことなのかも知れない。

なぜならFと日常はあまりにもかけ離れすぎて、
事件自体が特殊すぎたからであると思う。

森氏の２作目ですが、この作品からもう理系というのは
蘊蓄を語る手段になっており
理系ミステリというには疑問です
ヴァン・ダインの作風を自分の得意分野に絡めているというのが
言い様でしょうか？

トリックも動機も火曜サスペンスレベルの平凡なミステリー．
大学や低温室が舞台である必然性もないし，犯人がこんな綱渡りの計画で自分の身近な場所で犯行を犯すことも不自然だ．

犀川と萌絵のラブコメ要素も不要．センスが古すぎて退屈だ．

文章は「すべてがFになる」よりも少し上達したのか読みやすくなったが，といって，とりたててうまい表現があるわけでもない．喜多との会話には多少面白い部分もあるにはあるが・・・．

なんとこの作品は犀川創平がコーヒーを噴き出す唯一の作品です……。別に冷やかしとかではなくて、そんな創平君は後にも先にもここだけなので初々しさをお楽しみください。
