やはり京極先生は,鮮やかに美しく犯人を追い詰める達人です。

仏教やお寺に関する知識が皆無の状態で読んだので,正直難しいところもありました。しかし,なぜでしょう？？がんばって読み通してみると大まかな仏教界の流れが見えてきて,そういう意味でも勉強したような気分になってしまいました。

後半,間違ったことは言わない,榎さんの台詞をヒントに,犯人を想像しながら読みました。書かれた時代背景を考えると,京極先生なりに訴えたいことも含まれており,キャスト的にはもちろん,内容的にもとてももりだくさん,私には欲張りな小説でした。

改めて京極ワールドにはまる一冊です！！

京極堂の「陰陽師」の「言霊」に対抗する、シリーズ最大の敵「禅宗」の「禅問答」。果たして、京極堂は「憑き物」を落とせるのか？
言葉の奔流によって、読むことの面白さが堪能できる「京極堂シリーズ」は、この本でひとつの頂点を迎えます。骨董屋「待古庵」と、１作目で登場した老医師「久遠寺」が、重要な役割を果たします。

１作目のインパクトがあまりにも強かったので、２~３作目は内容にかかわらず私にとっては刺激が足らなかったのですが・・・本作で払拭しました。
でも・・・またもや本が厚くなった・・・！。でも、厚さと面白さの比でいくと、本作が最高傑作かもしれません。

　京極夏彦の作品中で一番の完成度だと思う｡
　登場人物たちが一箇所に集められるいわゆる館物のためか、一作目の登場人物の行方が伏線とされて深みを加えているためか。
　京極夏彦の作品はミステリーになるのだろうか｡ジャンル分けはよくわからないが、焦点はトリックではない。

　この作品の面白みは、巧妙に張り巡らされた伏線にある。注意と知識さえあれば、かなり早い段階で犯人が特定できる。それは伏線が確りしている証拠。それが楽しいと思うか、予想通りすぎてつまらないと思うかは読むひと次第だが。

「拙僧が殺めたのだ」という最初の一行のインパクトもすごい。閉ざされた山の中で修行する僧たちの超然とした姿が崩れていくさまも面白い｡
