「現代思想の冒険者たち」シリーズの一つが、学術文庫入り。
「現代思想の冒険者たち」シリーズがセレクト版で新たに刊行されていってる中で、この「バタイユ」のみが学術文庫入りしたのは、何か意味があるんだろうか・・・・・
読むほうにしては、安くなるからいいけど。

全部で４００ページと、かなり内容は濃い。
巻末にキーワード解説もついているし、主要著作解題や、読書案内まで。
＜内的体験＞にしろ、＜非-知＞にしろ、＜異質性＞にしろ、本来なら言語で表現することができない内容のことを扱うバタイユを、さらに言葉で説明するのは相当難しいはずなのに、わかりやすいし、良い本だと思う。
ただ、硬い。文章が。
もっともっと面白くかけたのではないか。
その辺がちょっとだけ残念。

　他の「現代思想の冒険者たち」シリーズが普及版として再版されているのに対し、本書は全面改稿により大幅に拡充されている。とは言え晦渋になったのではない。言い難きもの、これまでに表現されようとしたこともないことどもを表現しようとした作家以上の思想家バタイユを血肉化して読み直し読み砕き読み切った一書になっている。著者は本文庫以前に書き下ろしでちくま学芸文庫に『聖なるものと〈永劫回帰〉　バタイユ・ブランショ・デリダから発して』を上梓している。その後に『バタイユ』を書き改めたのである。難解そうに見えるのは活字が少々小さく組まれているからで、年輩の読者には少し不親切かも知れない。
　ところで、宗教は言い難きものを神と表現してきた。宗教や政治が現実の運動である以上それは如何様にもずれていると言え、言い難きものを実際は表現できていない。このことは普通には宗教批判、政治批判という現実の批判となるが、その批判の本質は、実は宗教が神として政治が王として表現しようとしたものは実際に本当には何だったのか、という問いが極限まで問い続けられていないことの告発なのである。言い得ぬものを言い得ぬものとして諦めてしまったら思想の言葉など必要ない。意識の社会化により表現せねばならないのに表現できないものが後からじわじわと現実化したのではない。唯物論者の言うように神は後から人間が作り出したものではない。
　バタイユが２１世紀の宗教、特に例えばイスラムにどう言及できるか、そして言い難きものを言い難きものとして何とか表現しようとした思想の残骸を結晶としてどう継ぎ往くか、このことが本書において圧倒的な情熱で問われたことなのである。
