映画「アマデウス」で描かれる下品で粗野でうぬぼれやのモーツァルト。まさかあの偉大なモーツァルトがそんな奴？だなんて信じられない。あれは映画だからでしょ。・・と思っている人に是非、是非読んで欲しい本です。あれってホントなんですってば！それにしても凄い量の濃い内容の手紙です。当時のウィーンやパリの町の様子がいきいきと描かれているところも見逃せません。花の都パリの道がでこぼこの泥んこだとか、運賃の安い馬車の乗り心地が最悪だとか、貴族がなかなか給料を支払わないとか・・・とにかくいつもお金がらみで文句を言っている偉大な音楽家。そんなモーツァルトさんを、きっと好きになってしまいますよ。
