　小学校のころに両親に買ってもらって登下校中に読んだ本ですが、数十年経った今でも心に焼き付いている、印象深い作品です。
　お手伝いをして生活いるおば(ぁ)さんが、つましい生活をしながら貯めたお金で人生一世一代の旅行をします。目的はパリのディオールでドレスをあつらえてもらうこと・・・。
　途中でいろいろな人たちに出会い、ハプニングを乗り越え、無事に帰国しますがその後大事なドレスが・・・

作者は何と今だから知る「ポセイドン・アドベンチャー」のポール・ギャリコ。
心をホットにしてくれる一冊です！！
