著者紹介
東京に生まれる。1951年、『貝になった子供』で日本児童文学者協会の第1回児童文学新人賞を受け、以来、『龍の子太郎』（1960年、第1回講談社児童文学新人賞、1962年、国際アンデルセン賞優良賞）、『ちいさいモモちゃん』（1964年、第2回野間児童文芸賞）、『モモちゃんとアカネちゃん』（1975年、第5回赤い鳥文学賞）と数々の賞を受けている。全集に『松谷みよ子の本』全10巻（講談社）がある。
【画家紹介】
1936年、青森に生まれる。武蔵野美術大学西洋画科卒業。児童出版美術家連盟会員。作品に『ちいさいモモちゃん』『モモちゃんとプー』『モモちゃんとアカネちゃん』『ちいさいアカネちゃん』（講談社）『るすばん先生』（ポプラ社）等のさし絵や、絵本『ジャックと豆の木』（小学館）他がある。1982年没。
