著者紹介

本名、治。1928年11月3日、大阪府豊中市生まれ。大阪大学医学専門部卒業。医学博士。1946年『マァチャンの日記帳』でデビュー。1947年「新宝島」が大ヒットする。以来、日本のストーリー漫画の確立に尽くす。また、アニメーションの世界でも、大きな業績を残す。
代表作に『鉄腕アトム』をはじめ『リボンの騎士』『火の鳥』『ジャングル大帝』『ブラック・ジャック』『ブッダ』『アドルフに告ぐ』等がある。講談社、小学館、文芸春秋、日本漫画家協会等の各賞を受賞。漫画集団員、日本漫画家協会理事、日本アニメーション協会会長、日本ペンクラブ会員、日本SF作家クラブ会員等を歴任。1989年2月9日没。

手塚治虫の作品の中でもかなり有名な作品。しかしその話は意外に短い。ジャングル大帝もそうなのだが、ＴＶでやっていた印象が強いのですごく長い話を想像してしまうが、原作はほんの少しである。（不思議のメルモなんかは一冊だけである）

もともとが少女マンガに描かれていたものなので女の子が主人公なのだがなぜかアクション満載である。天使が男の子の心をサファイアに、女の子の心を子犬（オス）に入れ間違ってしまったのだと思ったが、その精算のためにチンクが下界に降りてきている。内容はハムレット的な話だが、そこを女の子向けに変えたのだろうか、悲惨な結末にはならない。きっと楽しく読めるだろう。

子供の頃にアニメでわくわく、ハラハラ、どきどきしながら見た思い出深い作品。子供の頃の記憶なので定かではないが、原作よりもきっちり筋が通っていた、と思う。そのつもりで原作を見ると、少々がっかりする。初期の作品ゆえなのか、少女漫画ゆえなのか、他の手塚作品と比べてもはちゃめちゃ感が強く、完成度は低い。その最たる例が、この漫画、なんで「リボンの騎士」なの？！というぐらい、リボンの騎士が出てこない！アニメではそんなことはなかったと思うのだが。。
