全体的に「アキラくん争奪戦」となっています。

２巻では影を潜めていた緻密なビル、落書きもこの巻は徹底的に書き込まれています。例によってお決まりなブラック・ジョークも随所に散りばめられていますが、必見はやはり大破壊でしょう。未読な方は「何のこっちゃ？」と思われますが、連続して動かない「漫画」というジャンルでここまでリアルに破壊するシーンは他の漫画では無いのではないでしょうか？

「アキラくん争奪戦」から「大破壊」までどうつながっているのかは、是非とも自分の目で確かめて頂く事をお勧めします。

計り知れない巨大な力をめぐって、それぞれの人間の野望と、それを防ごうとするものの戦い。そしてその戦いの犠牲になった者への怒りか、あるいは悲しみによって、この世の終わりとも思えるようなとてつもなく大きな力が解き放たれる。１，２巻で登場した人物たちの謎は深まり、ますます｢AKIRAワールド｣へと読者を引き込む物語が展開します。

とにかくSFファンなら必見の１冊です。

5.0 out of 5 stars アキラが…金田が…そして、ネオ東京が！！, 2008/8/13
　１巻が丸ごと「鉄雄」の章でしたが、２巻、続けてこの３巻が「アキラ」の章です。第２巻において良くも悪くもアーミーの本部から脱出に成功した金田とケイ（もはや金田くんの保護者と化している？）はチヨコおばさんの元で平和な居候を送り続けます。そんな中、金田とケイは脱出の手助けをしてくれた密偵と共に、ついにアキラの居場所を突き止め、４１号と化し、１巻で、金田の目の前で山形たちを倒してしまった鉄雄により、アキラと遭遇する………というのが第２巻のあらすじでしたが、問題の３巻はアキラ争奪戦と化します。やがて争奪戦が終わるころには金田とケイ、チヨコおばさん、竜は大佐率いるアーミーにより連行寸前。アキラもアーミーが連れてきた「ナンバーズ」と顔を合わせたその最中………！！

　ついに「大災厄」が起きてしまうのです。金田とケイたちの目の前で、そして自ら恐れていた光景を大佐も目撃する………アキラが、ネオ東京が、そして………金田が…………。

　ネオ東京崩壊シーンはその後びっくりしたことに、２００６年の「日本沈没」の東京崩壊シーンとよく似ている部分が多いのです。そういえば、「ジパング」の京浜大地震のシーンも………。

　大災厄が去った直後の、過激に荒れ果てた地獄の最中、鉄雄くんとアキラくんの再会シーンに、私は思わず、はっとあることに気付きました。これが、「ＡＫＩＲＡ」前半のエンディングシーンだ、と。でも、これからどうなってしまうのだろうか………と不安に思わせる要素もたくさんありすぎて………トラウマの原因がここにあることを知りました。
