4.0 out of 5 stars 武道と格闘スポーツ, 2005/8/14
技の連続写真が多く、外見上の動きは武道の素人でも良くわかると思います。しかし写真が豊富な分、誌面のレイアウトが少々ゴチャゴチャしているのが星一つ減点した理由です。それでも、日本の古武道を読者に真剣に伝えようとする編集者の意気込みを感じ取ることができます。巻末に掲載されている剣道範士　森島健男氏のインタビューは現代剣道を単なるスポーツ競技として捉えている方々に対し、格闘スポーツとは一線を画する「己の人格を高めていく武技」としての役割があることを再認識させてくれるでしょう。
さらにこの本は、近年多い「古武道使い」などが登場する漫画を描く漫画家さんにとって最適の参考資料としてもおすすめします。

この本を読んで遠い昔の魂を思い出した気分です。
えてして不勉強な作家が混同する示現流と薬丸自顕流を併記して公平に記述してある。
薩摩拵についての記事も良かった。

古き良き武の心に触れることのできる一冊です。写真がたくさん有りわかり易く説明してあったと思います。天上天下と併せて見たら面白いかも（？）でも、この本は剣術メインです。
