5.0 out of 5 stars わた雲、すじ雲、入道雲・・・空は見上げる度にかたちを変える, 2004/2/12
繊細な四季の変化に育まれてきたせいか、雨にしろ風にしろ、そういう自然現象に対してつけた粋な「名前」が日本ではことに多いと思う。この本はそういった空の表情を、美しいカラー写真付きで紹介するいわば図鑑のようなものである。が、理屈っぽさはない。むしろ休日の午後にベッドに寝転がりながら眺めるような、心を解き放つための本といったおもむきがある。空に浮かび、流れて散っていく雲たちを集めた「雲の章」のほか「水の章」、「氷の章」、朝焼けや虹・蜃気楼などの「光の章」、「風の章」、二十四節気などを紹介する「季節の章」と６つの章に分かれている。この本を読んでいると、自分が普段、外に出ていながらいかに空を見ていないか、気候の変化の瞬間に鈍感か思い知らされる気がする。それがこの本の狙うところなのだろう。いかに美しく印刷された光や風や水も、自らで見て聴いて、嗅いで触れるそれには到底かなわない。

あわただしく過ぎていく日々、空を見上げるのは出勤前のお天気確認くらいだった、「あー傘いるかな？」なんて感じ。ところがである、ふとしたきっかけで文章を書くにあたり、気象について触れる事となった。そういうわけでこの本を購入したのだが、皆様のレビューしかりである。私には衝撃だった。毎日自分の頭の上で大自然の芸術がこんなにファンタスティックな展開を続けているということを何十年？も生きて来て忘れ去っていたのだということに気がついたからだ。幼い頃、母と指差して数えた羊雲、海から立ち上るような入道雲、秋のいわし雲。知らなかった雲もたくさんあった。この本は大変美しい写真集でもある。目にするすべての空に名前がある。この本の出会い以来、通勤電車の車窓から見上げる空が変わった。同じ空なんて無い、何か人生得した気分だ。

毎日のように見る空。
生活の中に溶け込んだ、見慣れたbackground。
空、外の空気でその日の気分が変わることも・・・。

このミニ天気図鑑には、空や季節に関する説明と写真が含まれています。
説明も簡潔で、「知識」に溺れてしまうこともない。

説明も中には専門的なことに触れる部分もありますが、空や季節の移り変わりに素敵な名前がついていたり。

文学作品を読む中で風景の描写が重要なこともありますよね。
たとえば、それが登場人物の心理をあらわしていたり。
私はそのイメージが見えてこなかった時にこの本を見つけました。
すべての項目に写真がついているわけではないのですが、説明を読むことでイメージがふくらむこともありました。

何よりも文学作品を読むだけではなくて、
私にとっては、自分で筆をとりたくなるような・・・そんな気持ちにさせてくれる本でした。
