やられました。私にも息子がいるので、ヤスさんの気持ちはよくわかる。ヤスさんの心の熱さも良かったですが、この話はそれだけでなく周囲の人たちがとにかくいい。海雲・照雲親子、たえ子さん…　脇役がここまで（主役に匹敵するほどの）活躍をした作品は重松作品でも少ないのではないか？海雲の残した手紙、照雲の演技…何箇所も涙が溢れました。親子だけでなく、人と人のつながりの大切さがわかる本当に良い作品だとおもいました。

重松さんの得意の家族の物語。
今作では父一人息子一人。
舞台は昭和30年代から昭和も終わる頃から平成の時代へ向かう頃。
何事にも不器用な父親、ヤスさんと
とんびが鷹を生んだと称されるほどの息子、アキラ。
その二人の生活を温かく見守る人々。
昭和の良き時代を見せ付ける作品だった。

帯から母親がすぐになくなってしまって
父と息子が苦労しながらやって行く話しなんだろう、と
安易に想像できるし、実際そうだった。
相変わらずの重松節。
良くも悪くも重松さんのパターン。
分かっているのにそれでも涙がほほを伝ってしまうのは何故だろう？

小説なんです。
フィクションのはずなのに
リアリティがありすぎるんです。
だからこそ、こんな家族が近くにいそうで
誰かを想像しながら
あるいは自分のことを振り返りながら
自分と重ねてしまうから。

痛いところを突いてくる重松節に今回も泣かされました。

親子二人の生活もそうですが、
その二人を温かく見守る周囲の人々の優しさ、厳しさ。
ただの同情ではなくて、本当に人を思いやる心の温かさ。
そんなものを読んでいくうちに感じることが出来た。

またしても、やられましたよ、重松さん。
