浅薄この上ないネット上、それも、掲示板の繋がりだけで、何人もの中高生がバスジャックなどという愚を決行できるのか。バスジャックをする少年たちには、生い立ちが不遇であったという、大人たちへの恨みがあるという。しかし、自らの人生を棒に振るような挙に出られるほどの不遇さ、そして自爆テロを行うような原理主義者たちほどの信念。このような非常に強力な負のモチベーションを読者にはっきりと意識づける描写が作中からは読み取りにくい。それっぽい描写があるにはあるが、訴求力の点で劣っている。だから感情移入できない。ストーリーのオチの部分も、今までの山田作品で読んだ覚えのあるアイデアである。いみじくも、作中における地の文で、あまりの不可解な状況に、「嘘に決まってる、そんな馬鹿げた話があるか」、「現実離れしすぎていて、何が真実で何が嘘なのか分からない」。と自ら語っている。著者本人にも、突拍子のなさがわかっているのかもしれない。
作家でない僕が言うのも僭越だが、本作品の冒頭以前の物語。つまり少年たちがネットで出会うことになった経緯を丁寧に描き、そして東京タワーでの邂逅を以て物語を終わらせた方が、数段味わい深い作品になるような気もした。

友達から「毎回後悔する。」と聞いていたので図書館か友達から借りて読んだ事しかないのですが、本当に感心する程文章と設定その他諸々が稚拙な人物だなあと悲しくなります。で、最近のの若手の「ホラー作家」と呼ばれている方々及びそれを絶賛する中高生、女性も同様です。とにかく文章や設定が安っぽ過ぎるんです。このままだと延々と書いてしまいそうなのですが。自分が日本のホラー小説家だと宣言出来るのであればお願いですから最低限の日本語の文章の書き方を覚えて欲しいです。本当に同じ日本人として恥ずかしいと言うか。文章書きを業としている人間がグチャグチャな日本語を書いてその存在意義があるのでしょうか？
しかし、日本語の乱れは思っている以上に深刻ですね。この作者は出版社の食い物にされているようで将来が心配です。
本人がどれだけ自分の文章能力を理解しているのか疑問ですが・・・。出版社ももう少し考えて欲しいものです。

私は山田作品をほぼ全部読んでいるが、そのなかでこの作品は間違いなく最悪の作品といえると思う。作者独特のスピード感がないし、落ちも単純、さらには登場人物の心理描写が少ないため、感情移入ができない。登場人物の行動には、読者に納得できる感情が表現されてこそ生き生きとした人物像が浮かび上がり、共感を呼ぶと思うのだが、残念ながらそれもない。今回の作品は、登場人物という駒を動かしているだけの独りよがりのものであり、本という商品として、また、作家の芸術品として世に出すべきものではなかったと思う。作者は、次々と出版しているようだが、このままだと確実にほされてしまうと思う。
