実は私は最初「ニート」という言葉に余りいい感情を持ってはいなかった。でも帯の文章が何となく気になり読んで見て何か沁むものを感じた。ああ、私にもこの感覚は解るなあ、と。
「本当にどうしようもなく何もする気になれない時」、それは確かに私にもある。例えば会社からどうにも納得できない事を言われた時、例えばどうしようもなく他人に否定を受けた時。それこそ生きてることすらホントにどうでも良くなる時。それじゃ駄目なんだろうなってことは頭ではわかってるんだけどもうどうしようもなくそれが出来ない時。だからせめて「ひっそり」していたいなあ、って時。
「ニート」ってのは若干甘えの要素をも含む部分も確かにあるかとも思うが其れとは別にもっと深い「今」の根っこが絡んでるのかもなあ、と「彼」を見てるとしみじみ思った。そして「私」がそんな「彼」に何かしたいどうにかしてやりたい、とにかくもっと「生きて」欲しいと望むのは、ひょっとしたら只の傲慢で。でも自分に出来ることで一番「目に見える」ものはやっぱり「資本」で。「私」が「彼」にそうするのはある意味押し付けなんだけど友情で、でもそこにお金を含むとそれは「只の」友情じゃないような物体になって。
そんな綺麗な「御伽噺」じゃいれないけどでもやっぱり「御伽噺」になって欲しい、これはそうゆう物語だったのかな、と思います。
淡々と描かれる「今」の空気が少し刺さる感じの清涼な文章です。

今までの絲山 秋子の小説に出てくる人物は「あわい」に立っている人々だった。逃亡していても，海で仙人になっていても，あちらとこちらの地続きの中を漂う様が描かれていた。

本作ではついにイッちゃった人々があらわされている。

それもまた現代の断面だと受け取って読めるのか，
共感がしづらくなって物語を手放してしまうのか，
切実な物語だと手放せなくなるのか，
非常に異なったとらえられ方をする小説だろう。

個人的な感じ方ではひざを打つところも多々あったけれども，
読んでいてそこまではきついなも多しでした。
ひねこびてはいるものの学問への夢あふれた青年が，
転落の末に見出した実存が****だったというのはねぇ・・・・
私まだ夢もって生きていたいです。

五篇の短編集であるが、うち「ニート」と「２＋１」は連携している。
ニート関連作品では、著者はやけにニートである男性に対して、肯定的な考えを持っている。
作品中には、投げ遣りな表現が目立ち、著者の、強く惹き付けられる独特な世界観が素晴らしい。
どうしようもない性を描いた「愛なんかいらねー」は、内容は不快だが、一定のテーマを追求している。
ただし、著者の独特な世界観は、登場人物のそれと同様に、屈折もしている。

この様な作品は、とかく批判されがちだが、一方では、評価されて、文学賞を受賞したりする。
批判の主な対象は、内容や展開の詰めの甘さの問題、表現の不快感などだ。

私は、本書により、深く心を動かされた。
展開や表現の問題を度外視し、理屈ではなく、感覚で読むと、どっぷりと浸る事が出来る。
音楽を耳ではなく、心で聴くのと同様に、本書を眼ではなく、心で読んでみると、深い味わいがある。

本書は、一般的にはウケないと思う。
しかし、十分に評価されるだけの、魅力ある一側面は確かにある。
