ライヴの設定は少しだけ先の日本で、日本に謎の病気が蔓延している。
その病気についてわかっている事は、病気が空気感染する物では無い事、日本でしか感染が確認されていない事と、そして数年で確実に死に至ること。
治す手立てはまだ無い。

ライヴに登場するのは自分の家族や大切な人がそんな病気に掛かってしまった人達。
でもある時、特効薬を入手したと言う謎の組織が現れ、薬を欲しがる人々に条件を出します。
それは組織が開くトライアスロンに参加する事。
そして条件は、レース中は薬を貰う為に参加してるという事を誰にも言わないこと。

ある人は自分の両親の為、ある人は自分の兄弟の為、本当に薬が貰えるのか分からない。でも少しでも可能性があるならば。
当然街中でいきなりトライアスロンを始めれば大きな騒ぎになります。
でも誰も理由を話す事は無い。

一体何人が、誰がゴールに辿り付けるのか。
そしてゴールでは何が待っているのか。
そもそも何故薬を渡す条件がトライアスロンに参加する事なのか。
メディアや集まった観衆達全てを巻き込んだ、トライアスロンのライヴが今始まります。

と設定はわりとしっかりしているのですが、私が３つ星を付けたのは、意外性があまり無かった事です。
マラソンも自転車も水泳も種目が変わっただけでそんなに大きな違いも無く、そして何より次の展開がなんとなく読めてしまう。
もう少し先が見えないような、「まさか！」と思うようなシーンが欲しかったです。

全然おもしろくない。
恐怖も全くないし、臨場感も全くない。
頑張ってラストまで読んでも、意味不明。
絶対におすすめできない一冊

登場人物の紹介が多すぎて、結局誰を主役にしたいのか途中で
分からなくなりそうになる。
中学生の女の子の扱いが雑すぎてかわいそう。
最後に出てきた黒幕の言い分は分からなくはない。その部分が救いだった。
