3.0 out of 5 stars 魔術というよりファンタジー世界だったイギリス, 2009/7/14
２６０ページからが本編です。
そこまでは、戦闘シーンばかりだったり、移動だけだったりと退屈な展開です。
合間に挿入される上条さんの登場シーンですが、いつものノリを期待していると裏切られるかもしれません。
お約束のサービスシーンもありません。
目次でピンで描かれているフロリスは、期待して読んでいると本編では華麗にスルーされます。
彼女に今後活躍の場はあるのでしょうか。

とにかく、１行で登場人物がいなくなったり場所や時間がすっ飛んだりと、どたばた感がいなめないイギリス編でしたが、上下巻通して、英国王女３人に魅力が乏しかったのが、盛り上がりに欠ける一番の原因でしょうか。
第一王女は空気ですし、何も成してないのに人徳の王女って説得力が無さ過ぎです。

ちなみに美琴は数ページ出ます。
普通の子だったはずの五和は酒乱属性がさらに増しています。
一端覧祭・・・まだですか？

今巻はとにかく熱いバトルが多い感じがしました！
特に上条が霊装カーテナ=オリジナルという強大な力を手にした
第二王女キャーリサの暴走を止めるために
女教皇神裂火織率いる天草式十字教、
アニューゼ部隊、必要悪の教会
後方のアックアや騎士団長といったかつての敵たちも含め協力し立ち向かっていくシーンが熱かった！

それにインデックスも魔道図書館としてところどころ活躍してるのも良かった！
ですが…最後にあんなことになるなんて…

…という次巻が気になる終わり方で全体的に見てもとても面白い巻でした！

　作中の英国は核兵器を保有していないなど、現実とかなり違います。これを取り上げることによって、英国が弱いという構図を作れた以上、強力な魔術と比べても、核兵器が遜色ない効果を生むということなのでしょう。また、この世界の中では国際的な調停機関も登場しないし、日本政府や日本企業の存在感は皆無に等しいですよね。この辺にもこだわりがあるのでしょうか。
　今回は、前巻で扱いがぞんざいだった英国女王が格好良く描かれています。あと、アックアもオイシイところを持っていく。英国から遠く離れた学園都市にいる御坂美琴にも、ピンポイントで活躍のチャンスが与えられる。その分、上条当麻の活躍の幅は小さい気もするが…しかし、あれだけ攻撃をくらってよく死なないな、彼は。
　そして最後には、新たな敵の登場と、新たな危機の発覚。次巻は海外転戦？
