『ガンダム』シリーズ２０周年！の記念碑的作品、『ターンエーガンダム』の画集、イラスト集。

　この作品でキャラクターデザインを担当されたのは、『ストリートファイター』(＞カプコン製作の超有名ゲームシリーズ)等のキャラクターデザイン等で知られる、安田朗氏。

　安田氏は『ターンエー』という作品世界で、その確かな画力と個性、溢れる魅力で、ロラン・セアックを始め沢山のキャラクターたちを生みだしてくれた。

　内容として＞
　番組の宣伝用ポスタ、各種ＣＤジャケットカヴァーや、ヴィデオグラムジャケット等に使用された５０号油絵(！)等が収録された『画集』と、

　登場キャラクターのキャラクターデザイン図（＞初期原案から決定稿に到るまでのキャラクターの変化、決定後のキャラァ?タの様々なポーズやコスチューム、）と、キャラクターデザイン担当者としての思考備考などの記録文、等による『キャラクター：画的資料集』が収録。
　あとがきには安田朗氏と富野総監督のお二人が文を寄せている。

　やや値段は張るものの、内容は値段におつりがつく位には素晴らしい！！
　『ターンエー』ファン、『安田朗』ファンは必見！の、
　『画術師：安田朗×ターンエーガンダム』画集。
　１２０％の自信を持ってお勧め致します。
　是非、御堪能あれ。

皆さん概ね、値段とページ数を除けば素晴らしい！
という評価みたいですが…
実際イラスト本の体を成しているのは最初の20ページ程です、
あとの80ページ程は、キャラクター設定資料集？のような形です、
なのでがっつり画集！っと言う気持ちで買うと、
微妙な気持ちになるかもしれません、

ですが最初のイラストは素晴らしいですし、
ほとんどのページに本人の解説やらコメントが添えられています、
ですので安田さんの絵やキャラクターに対する考え、
等に興味がある方には良い出来かもしれません

星三つの理由は、絵と言うか画としての∀ガンダムの世界を期待していたので
その部分が20ページ程だったので…、
ですので、買って後悔はしていませんが星三つな気分です。

このデザイナーさんのキャラクタの周りには
空気がある感じで、骨太で無駄が無いし、
荒いタッチながら繊細な絵は魅力的で飽きないと思います。
（偉そうになってしまってごめんなさい）

キャラクタを作り上げるに当たって
「こんな感じにしようと思った」などの
味付けのためのエピソードも沢山で、

ああこんなふうに、キャラクタを肉付けするのか~・・と
そんな安田氏の考えが伺い知れて面白いです。
お値段が少し高めですが、十分な価値のある、
おもしろい本だと思います。
