矛盾点を見つけようとしてこの設定資料集と単行本を併せて読むと
非常に不毛になります。
当時はこういう風になる予定だったのか、と
キャラの実際の登場場面と、登場前の予定であった姿を見比べたり
すると楽しいです。
設定資料集としては、これとアウトラインがあれば十分でしょうか。
絵としてはデカダンスーツ全盛期の頃の絵だと思われるので

プラスチックスーツよりそちらがお好みの方にお勧めです。

作者自身もこの物語はロボット物ではなく、ファンタジー、神話だとおっしゃっております。私も17のときからファンになり現在31歳。ファン歴14年の私もとても参考になりました。この本を読んで複雑な人間関係、伏線を理解すればあなたも立派なマモルマニアです。

膨大な設定で知られるファイブスター物語の設定資料本。
もう既に発行から7年以上経ってしまっている本なので、
現在描かれているストーリーとは多少食い違いがあります。

ただ、トイズプレス刊行のものより手に入れ易く安価ですし、
最近FSSを知った方にはその世界観を知る上で最適かと思います。
この本を読んで、FSSについてもっと知りたいと思ったら
「キャラクターズ」や「クロニクル」系を集めてみるのもいいかもしれません。
（まあ、トイズプレス刊行の設定本も大半は古い物なのですが・・・。）
