経済の潜在的発展力、政治の安定性、対日感情の良さ等から、今後は中国よりもインドの方が、生産拠点としても消費マーケットとしても有力ではないかとはよく言われることです。

しかし、インドについて書かれたものは、中国に比較すると驚くほど少なく、本著はその中でも最新のインド本だと言えると思います。

ＩＴ産業、医療産業についてはもちろんのこと、宇宙産業、映画等のソフト産業、資源開発、コーポレートガバナンス問題等についてほとんどが２００９年ベースとなっています。

インドの初級者にも、中級者にもお勧めできます。なお、著者には以前より、是非ブラジルについての本を書いてもらいたいと思っていますが・・・・・

インド経済の最新動向と将来展望がコンパクトにまとめてあり、情報整理に役立つ。終わりの箇所に共感した。これからの世界が米中2強の時代になるのは避けられないだろう。やはり作者の主張するように日本はいまから中国に比肩する大国インドに接近したほうがいいと思う。そうしなければ日本はアジアでの覇権争いで中国に負けてしまうだろう。

私も今年インド（ニューデリーとアグラ）に旅行に行きましたが、ずっと昔に行ったときの印象とは大きく異なっていました。それだけ発展のスピードが加速しているということでしょう。
ただ、少し中心部を外れると昔ながらのインドの光景も見られて、本書で指摘されているように格差の問題を抱えながら発展しているという印象でした。
本書は、インドの経済の最新情報が丁寧に整理されていて、またリスクについても触れられており、インドを知るうえでは格好の入門書と言えると思います。インドで国民背番号制の導入が検討されているというのは初耳でした。これからのインドの発展が楽しみです。
