★２の上(全６巻通しての総合評価は★３の下)。
著者の18冊目にして初のエロ無し一般作長編『ドロテア』の第６巻にして完結編。

『グリム童話』への挑戦は、ひとまず幕を閉じたワケだけど、ラストの方向性はあまりにも安逸で、グリム童話の残酷さとはほど遠く、はたして構想通りに描けたのかどうか、いらぬ心配をしてしまうくらい甚だ疑問も残ります。

初挑戦の一般作がかような大長編になってしまったワケで、構成的な部分では致し方ない部分もあるけど、物語の中で役どころを完全に全うできたキャラも、ほとんど見当たらないのが、ちょっぴり寂しいです。

短編〜３話完結くらいの作品では、あれほど胸を掻きむしられるようなドラマを描ける著者なのに、何故？と思わずにはいられません。
５巻から６巻序盤の方向性が悪くなかっただけに口惜しさもひとしお。

ホントにこれが著者の描きたかった結末なんだろうか？と、うがった見方さえしてしまう私です。

ともあれ、長期間お疲れ様でした。

この作品を描いたことで得るものが多かったのであれば、個人的には満足ですし、反省点が見つかったのであれば次回作に活かしてくれればと思います。一歩一歩前進してくだされば幸いです。

今後の著者の更なる飛躍を信じて。

カバー内のステキなアレがもう見られないのがとても残念です…。

2.0 out of 5 stars 安易というか拍子抜けな終わり方, 2008/8/13
ハッピーエンドすぎます。
エンディングへ向けてトントンと進んでしまって、終わったときに
「え？終わり？」という拍子抜けで予定調和な感じを受けます。

盛り上げる（読者の胸を締め上げる）にはエルゼ姫か、ギュルクか、
カスパル連隊長あたりを死なす必要があったかも。
シャンツガルドばあばが死にますが、感情移入しづらい人だし、
捕まって拷問受けてる段階で死ぬのは織込み済なので特に感慨が起こらなかった。

それと、"炯眼が啓けた"わりにはあまり活躍していないのも物足りない。

もしかして実は打ち切り？とかでこんな早送りなまとめ方になったのでしょうか。
素材は良いと思っていただけにちょっと残念です。
