メールの顔文字や、ギャル語などが出ていたので、くだけた本かと思って読んだのですが、意外に硬い本でした。
日本語の文字について、歴史的な変移についても書かれ、一読すると、なかなか博識になれます。
たまにはこういうものを読んで、教養を深めるのもいいですね。

ただ、著者は、将来、国語審議会入りして、新しい日本語の書き方に口をはさみたがっているのではないかと、思えます。本のなかで、さかんに、新しい書き言葉の用法を提案していますが、ちと鼻につかないこともないです。

3.0 out of 5 stars たのしいがきえゆく (?!) 新表記法, 2009/2/3
ケータイや 2 ちゃんねるから，つぎつぎと顔文字やこれまでの日本語になかったあたらしい表現がうまれている．著者はそれを分析するところからはじめて，かな小文字，外来語表記，濁点・半濁点，長音，句読点などに関して，あたらしい表記法を提案している．こういう問題についていろいろかんがえるのはたのしいことではある．しかし，とびきりおもしろい話題があるわけではない．結局のところ，1 冊の本が表記法に影響をあたえる可能性はすくないとおもえる．
