時は昭和２０年代・・・半世紀以上前のできごとです。でも、「古いのに古くない」それが金田一耕助の世界ではないでしょうか。
人里離れた温泉場で金田一耕助が出くわしたのは、修行中の怪しげな予言者。この男の奇怪な行動の意味とは・・・？幾度となくドラマ化、映画化される有名どころの作品はもちろん読み応え充分ですが、この作品のような比較的短い作品であっても横溝ワールドとでも言うべき醍醐味はしっかりつまっています。金田一物は読んでみたいが長編はちょっと・・・、と言う方挑戦してみられてはいかがでしょう。
また、この作品では金田一耕助が恋をしています。彼も人間なのです。
