著者略歴 (「BOOK著者紹介情報」より)

佐藤 優
1960年、東京生まれ。起訴休職外務事務官。1985年に同志社大学大学院神学研究科修了後、ノンキャリアの専門職員として外務省に入省。在ロンドン日本大使館、及びソ連邦崩壊を挟む1988~95年の在モスクワ日本大使館勤務を経て、本省国際情報局分析第一課に勤務。外交官を務めるかたわら、モスクワ国立大学哲学部、東京大学教養学部で教鞭をとる。主任分析官として活躍していた2002年5月、背任容疑で逮捕。同年7月、偽計業務妨害容疑で再逮捕。2005年2月に執行猶予付き有罪判決を受けて控訴するも、東京高等裁判所によって控訴を棄却され、現在、最高裁に上告中。『自壊する帝国』(新潮社)で第38回大宅壮一ノンフィクション賞、並びに第5回新潮ドキュメント賞、『国家の罠』(新潮社)で第59回毎日出版文化賞特別賞を受賞(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

5.0 out of 5 stars 国際政治の”今”を知るための知的入門書, 2007/9/2
いまや世界企業としての展開をしているトヨタは、ロシアのサンクトペテルブルクに工場進出させる際にロシア・アルミニウム人脈を活用したそうである。こうした一般の人にはなかなか分からないトピックが、ロシア社会の通念を深く知る佐藤優氏によって解説されている。

本書は外交上の複雑な事情をとても論理的でかつ読みやすい文章で表現されているため、専門家ばかりでなく、この世界の素人であっても、新聞やウェブだけではなかなか分からないような国際問題、外交問題における本当の事情を垣間見ることが出来る。

そういう意味で、本書は、国際政治の”今”を知るための知的入門書である。

内容は、ネットで無料で読めるコラム（地球を斬る・・フジサンケイビジネスアイに連載中）
とそのコラムに対して佐藤さん自身がキーワード解説、内容にたいして再考した検証部分を追加されています。

特に検証部分では連載時から変化した状況も踏まえて
書かれているので、状況の見立て誤りなども素直に書かれています。

コラムを読んで見て興味がわいた方は、買って損はないと思います。

　「フジサンケイ　ビジネス・アイ」に連載された60回分の佐藤氏の記事に対して、自ら検証を行い、尚且つキーワード解説を行っている。　内容は、その時々の時事に関する佐藤氏の「見立て」であるが、この視点が内部情報、インテリジェンス分析を踏まえてのもので、中々こういった記事はない。　時事解説ではあるが、時期に関係なく、読んでいて面白い。
　日本の新聞の内容は、国際スタンダードから少しズレテいるところがあるようだが、佐藤氏のこの本は、ある意味それを補えると思う。

　外資に勤めるビジネスマン・ウーマンは必読の書。内資のビジネスマン・ウーマンも是非読んで欲しいと思う。
