薔薇のマリアのサイドストーリーであるコロナの物語。


そもそもエルデンという街は様々な視点で描かれていると思う。。


マリアローズが在してるZOOという超人的なメンバーたちから見えるエルデン。


居場所を求めるようにして集まったアジアン率いるランチタイムから見えるエルデン。


そして、今作品。特に能力に優れているわけではないが、毎日の日銭を稼ぐためにアンダーグラウンドで侵入者をするコロナとレニィから見えるエルデン。




コロナとレニィの日常生活は、まあどうにかなるさ主義のZOOとは違い、切実で複雑な人間関係の息苦しさがある。
マリアローズたちのような冒険的な活躍劇はないが、この作品ではエルデンの一般の侵入者としての暮らしが描かれている。
そして、個性に富んだキャラクターたちが、これまでと違ったエルデンを感じさせてくれる。
だが一番の読みどころはラストで、すごくハートフルに仕上がり、さすが完結篇というか、もう、とにかくよかった!! そういう言葉しか浮かばない。
よくできた一冊だと思う。


収録されている三篇をすでに雑誌で読んでいて、触手が伸びない方もいると思うが、
−−これは、ぜひとも買って読むべし。
と強気でお勧めしたい。
書き下ろしの最後の一遍はコロナとレニィの物語の帰結であり、この部分を読まなくてはまるで意味がないからだ。コロナとレニィたちが気になっている方は、とくに読むべきだと思う。

明るい表面の裏の悲しい思いのところが売りなのに全体的に暗いのは、意味が無いよね。
