アニメ・漫画・文庫と広がりを見せている「BLOOD＋」。
その中でもこの一冊は、ハジと小夜が好きな方にかなりオススメかも。

あとがきで作者さんが仰っているように、「ハジと小夜の絆」「小夜の可愛らしさと強さ」がしっかり描かれています。終焉へと加速しているアニメ放送よりずいぶん昔のお話になるので、二人の関係がまだけっこうイキイキ（？）しています。

この頃はハジもけっこう喋るし、フツーに優しい青年です。小夜は過去は過去でも性格的にはアニメの―（泣き虫で大食で、でもいつも何かに駆り立てられている）サヤと同じですね。

ハジの運命を狂わせたと、いつも心のどこかで自分を責めている小夜。一方ハジはというとサヤを護りぬければ、それで迷いは無い様子。

彼女は贖罪のために、彼は護るために、それぞれ戦う意志が伝わってきます。時にすれ違ったり、ギクシャクしながらも、やっぱり二人は主従でもありパートナーだなぁと強く思いました。

ロシアの文化や構造建築の描写、当時の政権とその影。それら舞台の上で小夜達の血と闘い、葛藤と活躍が見られます。ロシアに現れた翼手の背後には何がいるのか？また今回登場する「赤い盾」の少年達もそれぞれ思惑があるようで、そのあたりも今後必見です。

絵も全体的に綺麗ですし、アクションシーンの描写もサクサク読めて小気味良い感じ。続きが気になります。ただ、いきなりこの一冊で過去を知るのも…いいとは思いますが、アニメの中盤部分まで観た上で読んだ方が、切なさが増すと思います。

ＴＶアニメ『BLOOD+』からの別バ−ジョンなので、ＴＶとは切り離して（それでいて、どこかシンクロするような）考えた方がいいと思います。
ハジ・ファンなので、こんなハジもありだわ〜♪と、アニメとは別の表情（優しさ）を楽しめました。こんなにサヤにご執心のハジも、とっても素敵です。まだ、しょっぱなの１巻目ということもあるのか、翼手とのアクションはやや少なめです。

アニメの方は、ほとんど見れない状況なので、思い切って小説を読んでみることに…。
設定は、アニメとは違うみたいですが、その分アニメを知らない私でも、十分に楽しむことができました。
ハジと小夜の会話や、ドレスを着飾った小夜が気に入ってます。赤い盾のメンバーも美形揃いでいい感じでした。
話は、まだ始まったばかりなので、続きを読まないと全体的な評価は難しいですが、「続きを読みたいな〜」と思わせてくれた分と次回への期待も込めて星四つ付けました。
アニメを知らない人にもおすすめです。
