この小説版はアニメ本編に沿って話が綴られています。しかし、それだけに止まらないのがやはり小説という媒体ならでは。本編では流れなかったシーンなどが数箇所詰まっています。これは小説１・２巻にも共通に言えることですので、あわせてお勧めです（３巻は外伝のアストレイとほんの数行だけリンクしてたりします）。そして何よりうれしいのが、キャラの心の中が覗けることです。特にフレイはアニメで何を考えているのか分からなかったのですが、この小説を読むと意外な本心が分かります。ＳＥＥＤを２００％楽しむために、是非一冊お買い上げ！！

機動戦士ガンダムSEEDノベルズ第３巻。この３巻には主人公アスランとヒロイン・カガリの敵同士の出会い、主人公キラともう一人の主人公アスランのフェンス越しの再会、そして二コル・トールの死という出会い・再会・悲劇の三つの大きな事柄が書かれています。一番印象にのこるのはやはり全てなのですが、その中でも小さい頃からの友達であるキラとアスランの再会、そして仲間を殺され決別する２人の心情が印象に残ります。
そして二コルとトールの死により、仲の良かった二人が殺し合うシーンはアニメならずこのノベライズでも泣かされました。
このノベルを読めば戦争の現実が良く分ります。そして平和の大切さも。

カガリが実はお姫様だった・・・と分かるシーンで、本編ではキャラたちの驚く顔だけが放送されていましたが、この小説版ではさらに詳しい描写がされています。セリフもあり、なかなか良かったです。（カガリファンです）
他にもキャラたちの心理が細かく書かれていて放送終了して時間が経ちますが、今更ながら理解しました。
