いずれの主人公たちも、大事な人から裏切られ、だれかれ問わず傷つけられ、誰も彼もが信じられなくなった。自分は周りに馴染めないのだとあきらめきっているところから、物語が始まる。彼らのもう一つの共通項は、事故や病気など、親の不在や別離である。
そんな孤独感にかられるときに、この短編集は希望をたぐりよせるような魅力があるのではないか。理想は幻想だったとわかっても、現実もそう捨てたものじゃないと思えることがあるのだと。
通じ合えた暖かいときは一瞬であり、いつか遠い過去の思い出になるとしても、とても貴重に輝く一瞬で。通り過ぎていくのは寂しいけれど、だけど、確かにそこにあった温かいものを忘れないし、未来は悪くなるとは限らないし。
子どもの頃の思い出がよみがえるような、ほっと一息つく感じがよかった。若い人向けといわず、ラノベ対象年齢以上の方にも勧められると思った。

短編全て満足。本作にはグロ系がなく、全体的に切ない系。乙一さん独特の世界観にどっぷりと浸れた。　読むたびに思うけど、乙一さんの文には読ませる力がある。かたく退屈な場面がなく、終始ワクワクできる。　また、思い切った設定がこの人の特徴であり、魅力でもあると思う。本作は短編集なので、様々な不思議な世界を味わう事が出来る。非現実的ではあるものの、どこか現実味のある物語。絶対にあり得ないとはわかっていても、「もし自分がこんな場面に出会ったら・・・」と必ず考えてしまう。それくらい自分が乙一ワールドに引き込まれてる。本作でなぜ読者の支持を集めるのかが実感できた。　　　実際今自分の中で、『ボクの賢いパンツくん』が意外な感じで印象に残ってる。登場からやけに好印象なパンツくんに最初は笑ってしまいそうになったが、ボクとパンツくんのふれ合いたった数ページの中に、子供の純真さ素直さが詰まっている。この作品で、乙一さんの新しい一面を見ることが出来た。

乙一さんの作品は、ホラー作品ばかりかと思っていたけれど
この作品は、短編小説集と思えないほど一つ一つの作品が丁
寧に書かれていて感動的です。
読んだ後、心が満たされると思います。
