ようやく文庫化ということで購入しました。映画化もされて、話題になった作品ですが...

まず、作者の他の作品とは全く違った雰囲気の本だったことに驚きました。
にもかかわらず、作者の“読ませる”文章は健在です。終わりまで一気に読んでしまいました。

ただ正直、内容的には何ら意外性も感動もなくどうして話題を呼んだのかわかりませんでした。
前半の万年筆のくだりは不必要とも思えるくらい長く、親友や職場の先輩などサブキャラクターの存在もいまいちはっきりしません。

しかし後半、特に伊吹先生のノートの話など、読んでいて心に響くものがあるのも確かです。
特別な感動はなくとも、終わりまで読んでなんだか暖かい気持ちになりました。

今後も幅広い作者の活躍が楽しみです。

映画化にもなった本作が気になり、通勤電車で読むために購入しました。

話しの展開は直ぐに想像できる感じがしました。
しかし作者の本意は話しの展開うんぬんよりも心に残る姉の姿と、
伊吹の想いをどう表現するのかだと感じました。

そして後書きを読んでみて、作者がいかに姉を慕って、世の中に姉の存在を残したかったのだという気持ちを感じました。

激しい展開を期待する作品ではなく、人の内面を感じほんわかしながら楽しむ作品だと思います。

人は言葉を発することで、人を傷つけたり喜ばせたりしています。
主人公、香恵の部屋にあった1冊のノート。
部屋の前の住人“伊吹”が置き忘れていったノート。
ノートをめくるうちに、伊吹の生き方に共鳴していきます。

伊吹の行動に一喜一憂したり、恋愛の指南書にしたりと、香恵を大きく変えていきます。

ノートを読み終えた時、香恵は、どう感じるのか、どのような行動に出るのか。
そこからが、本当の意味での香枝の人生のスタートラインなのだと思います。
