4.0 out of 5 stars 単行本「弁頭屋」の文庫版です, 2007/12/11
美的にグロテスクな短編集です。
「弁頭屋」で生首を容器にした弁当が売られていてそれが別段奇怪でもなんでもない
風に語られるように、どの話も異常な状況をあたりまえとした世界で描かれています。
グロさ余ってむしろ可笑しい、というか、シリアスとユーモラスのはざ間にあるグロテス
クな描写にそこはかとない恐怖を垣間見ました。
また最後に読者を欺くオチを用意したいわゆるホラー・ミステリではありません。
ただただ読者をシュールな世界に迷い込ませ、シュールに幕を閉じます。
特に「カデンツァ」は人間が家電製品に恋する話で、両者は愛を育み子供まで産まれ
ています。これをシュールと言わずになんと言いましょう。
グロい描写が平気で、型にはまったホラー小説に飽き飽きした方におすすめです。

十分に娯楽作として楽しめます。
全編ユーモラスでグロテスク。
どこか古めかしさも漂わせる短編集です。

「姉飼」も面白かったですが、私はこちらの作品集の方が出来が良いと思います。
淡々としながらもマッタリと、連続して描かれるマゾヒスティックなグロ描写は、なんだか異世界に迷い込んでしまったような不思議な酩酊感をもたらしてくれます。マルキ・ド・サドや澁澤龍彦、山口椿などお好きな方は気に入るのではないでしょうか。サスペンス物やハラハラドキドキ系など好む人にはお勧めしませんが。
