色々と考えさせられる話。
誰でもほんのちょっとしたことですぐに傷ついてしまう今の時代。そんな中をどうやって生きていけばいいのか。時には死んでしまったほうが楽に違いないと思ってしまう、けれど生きているからこそ感じることの出来る命の尊さや、喜び。そのようなことを、3人の中学生と、一人の青年の物語を通して伝えているように感じました。

後半の臨場感がすごくて、自分がその場にいるような緊張感がありました。先の読めない展開。ついつい先へ先へとページをめくりたくなります。
バレッタが水溜りに浮かぶ様を”つきのふね”とたとえるシーンは、「なるほど」と、感動を覚えずにはいられませんでした。
手紙の最後の文。あれは読者に対する投げかけなのでしょう。ひらがなで書かれた幼い文章にはっと胸を打たれて涙が出ました。

中学1年の娘に読ませるため購入、娘より先に読みました。最初はこの内容はどうかな、と思いましたが、最後は涙でぼろぼろになってしましました。思春期を乗り越えてゆくのは大変。大人になる過程でなにか命に関わるぎりぎりの体験をしてゆく・・・。これからその思春期に突入するわが子を冷静に見守りたいと思います。

森 絵都作品のなかで一番好きな作品になりました。
文庫が出るまでなかなか読む機会がなかった作品ですが、最高傑作でした。
青春のヒリヒリした痛みとか、その頃の焦燥感とかを描ききっている。
ラストの智さん手紙、これでもうこれ以上のものはないと確信しました。
でも、これからもこれ以上の作品を期待しています!
