ロマンス小説の翻訳に追われているヒロインと、突然「今日、会社を辞めてきた」と彼女に何の相談もなく一方的に切り出してきた青年の１週間の物語。本書で特筆すべきなのは、小説内小説であるロマンス小説が翻訳を飛び越えて、彼女自身が物語のつづきを書き進めてしまうところにある。その物語には現実世界における青年との些細な齟齬や誤解から生じる彼女の揺れる思いが色濃く反映される。ロマンス小説の中盤でヒーローの騎士にとんでもない出来事が起こる辺りから、本来の予定調和の世界から逸脱していく。主人公の姫はどうなってしまうのか･･･現実のふたりの関係と共に見逃せなくなるのがミソ。変化球の切れ味抜群の恋愛小説である。ヒロインの父親もいい味だしてます。

　女性翻訳家が、半同棲中の彼とのトラブルに悩み、友人の引っ越し騒動に巻き込まれながら、騎士とお姫様が主人公のロマンス小説を翻訳するという物語です。自分の翻訳の「暴走」に悩みつつ楽しんでいる翻訳家が滑稽で、親しみがもてました。

　難しいことを考えず、軽いノリで読めば、とっても楽しめます。明るい恋愛小説を読みたい方にお薦めします。

タイトルに惹かれて、ちょっと買ってみた。
なかなかいい。作中で翻訳しているロマンス小説と小説本体が同時並行で、進行して、1章おきに並んでいる配置。
恋愛小説ばかり書いている人かと思ったのだが、意外にもそうではないらしい。他の小説も読んでみてみたくなる感じの小説だった。

読後感はすっきり。
