世の中にはホントに「困った人」ってのがいるものです。
そんな困ったちゃんを世界へ誘（いざな）う添乗員さんの大奮戦シリーズの第２弾です。
熟女たちと行ったインドバックパックの旅「バックパッカーで行こう編」を始め、ムフフと笑える話が満載です。
そして、最後の章の「涙のアッシジ巡礼編」泣けます。

とても悲しくて切ない、そしてやさしいお話です。
この作者の、笑いと涙のさじ加減の絶妙なところがお気に入り。
第一弾の添乗員騒動記と併せてお勧めです。

作者が添乗員として様々なパックツアーに参加するがそこでは怒りあり、笑いあり、涙ありの色々な出来事が起こる。
作者はあとがきで個人旅行に慣れたひとにとっても、パックツアーは（個人旅行と比較してまけずに）面白いと言っており、今まで個人でバックパッカーばかりしてきた私も読み終えると、なるほど確かに面白そうだなと思わされていた。

忙しくてなかなか旅行にいけないというような人はこの本を旅への欲求不満の解消に使えるのではないでしょうか。旅行を間近に控えている人はガイドブックを読んで帰国後この本で旅行の余韻に浸ってみるのもいいかもしれません。
少しだけでも現地の状況が含まれていると、もっと内容に入り込めた気がするので星４つです。が、面白い作品でした。

　1998年に旅行人から出た単行本の文庫化。『添乗員騒動記』に続く第二弾だが、前作に比べると落ちるように思う。前作では馬鹿馬鹿しさと面白さに割り切って書いた雰囲気が感じられたが、本書は自分の優秀さを書くのに主眼が置かれているように思う。かなり自己顕示欲の強い人物なのだろう。不測の事態をどうやって乗り切ったか、困ったお客にどんなふうに対応したか。それはそれで面白いが、うんざりさせられる部分も少なくない。　まあ、暇つぶしに読むにはちょうど良い本だと思う。
