3.0 out of 5 stars 日本人作家としては異色, 2009/5/11
日本人の作家としては随分と野心的な事をしようとしているな、と感心しました。読者を惹き付けて離さない筆力も相当なレベル。ただし、あくまで日本人作家としての但し書きがつきますが。メタフィクションとしての構造は単純で、特に目新しいものではないし、なによりズームルッドの語る物語の内容が同じアラビアンナイトが元ネタだからとはいえ、タニス・リーの「平たい地球」シリーズと雰囲気が似ている為、余計に新鮮味に欠けるように私には感じられました。リーの文章は装飾過多すれすれの耽美調なので、読む人を選びますが。古川氏は逆に一人でも多くの読者を得たいと思ったのでしょう、読み易さにかなり気を使った事が窺われます。私としては、面白いし気軽に楽しめるけれど、驚愕はしなかった、という感想です。

設定も興味津々、最初のエピソードなどもめちゃめちゃおもしろい。
ワクワクしながら読み始めました。
途中、話が見えてしまうところもあったけれど、印象的なシーンの数々に、
長さを感じることもなく読み進め……あらら、これでオシマイ？
この結末が納得できるなら☆４つ５つ、よくわからないなあと思ってしまったら、
途中のおもしろさを思うと残念ではあるけれど、☆１つになってしまう。そんな作品です。

最後の場面は秀逸でした。
物語としては、１、２巻でどのような展開と結末になるのか期待させられましたが、この最終巻での収束の仕方には、悪くはないけども、こんなもんか？という感想です。
それだけに最後のシーンに救われた、という思いが強くなりました。
あと物語に時折顔を見せるユーモアセンスも、笑うことが出来ませんでした、あれは必要なのだろうか？
