岡山弁で語られる五つの恐怖。
収録作
「華美粉飾（はでづくり）」
「合意情死（がふいしんぢゅう）」
「自動幻画（シネマトグラフ）」
「巡行線路（みまはり）」
「有情答語（いろよきへんじ）」。
今回恐いのは生きている人。
その生き方が恐い。
その恐さに触れてしまう五人の主人公の辿りつく場所もそれぞれ。
私は、最後の一篇「有情答語（いろよきへんじ）」、孤児院で育ち強く正しくありたいと、自分の育った孤児院で、後に刑務所の女囚官房で働く男を、どうか彼が強くあれますように、恐い目にあって折れることのありませんようにと願いながら読んでしまいました。
ホラーの読み方としてはめずらしいこともあるものです（主人公がひどい目にあってなんぼのところがあるじゃないですか）
こんな不似合いな読み方をしてしまった読者が果たして報われたか否かは・・・ご自身の目でお確かめあれ。
岡山弁で語りかける岩井志麻子は決して期待を裏切らない。恐ろしいことですよ。

著者の短編集の中でいちばん好きです。
もっと評価されてもいいのでは？

岩井氏お得意の怖さやエロさやえぐさはこの作品では封印されいます。
特別な悪人でもなければ素晴らしく善人でもない、（岩井さんもよく語っている）「普通の人々」の心に宿る、ささやかな欲望、野心、邪心などが引き起こす悲喜劇が描かれており、全編にユーモアとぺーソスがほどよく漂います。
特に各作品に登場する女性たちの力のあるセリフがおもしろく、女たちの前では男はみんなただのヘタレになりさがってしまいつつも、そんな彼らがどこかかわいらしい。

しかし、なぜ、ホラー文庫からでてるのかな？
全然ホラーではないと思うのですが〜。
