前作『呪怨』からの完全続編なので、前作を読んでいない方は
先にそちらを読んでから、こちらをオススメします。
・・・とはいっても多少の説明などはありますが・・

死んでも、なお怨念を世の中に残し、全ての者に死を与えようとする女。
彼女を中心に、多数の人物が登場し、一人一人にスポットを絞りながら
ストーリーは進んでいきます。

ホラーだけあって、暗い話しが延々と続きますが、話の見せ方が
非常にうまい為、どんどん続きが読みたくなります。

話しに『ケリ』がつくタイプのはなしではありませんが
ホラー小説としては、上手くまとまっていますので
少しでも気になったのでしたら、買って損はないと思います。

前作『呪怨』のレビューで「これはノベライズですので、純粋な大石作品ではありません。大石ファンは無理して読まなくてもいいのでは」と書きました。基本的に同じです。しかし、１作目では許容できたことが、続編ともなると飽きてしまう部分が出てきますので、星はさらに減点で２つ。たとえば、ストーリーとは全く無関係に古今東西の怪奇現象が紹介されていますが、これはくどいし、かえってストーリーの流れが途切れるし恐さが薄められてしまいます。こういうことに興味のある人は、巻末のネタ本やTVを見るので、小説の中で繰り返し書かなくても良かったのではないでしょうか。

それから、結末部分が綴じられていて、購入してからミシン線を切り離す装訂になっていますが、正直言って、それほどもった!いぶる内容とも思えません。

「これ怖いよ！」っと人に薦められて読んだので、期待し過ぎました。
思った程怖くは無くて「あれ？」と拍子抜けしてしまいました。

文章をコピー&ペーストしたかの様に
同じ描写が繰り返し出て来ます。
なので段々慣れてきます…。

怖くは無いけど結構楽しめました。
でもこの手の話は後味が悪いですね（苦笑）
