実に面白く、上下巻で800頁以上ある大作だったが、2日で一気に読んでしまった。犯罪を繰り返す「ナニカ」の正体の追跡、息詰まるアクション、そして思わぬ犯罪に巻き込まれてしまった人たちの悲しみ・・・・。この作品は、特に被害者達や、その家族の状況描写が多く、被害者のボランティアの青年なんかは、我が身を投影してしまった。更にはナニカ」の人間性（？）にも共感を覚えてしまった。二人の刑事の行動は、組織で捜査する現代警察とは思えない行動が多く、リアリティを感じなかったが、その点を引いても星5つ。すぐに映画版も見たが、小説の方が面白かった。しかし、大庭朝子役の市川実和子ははまり役。

恐ろしい連続猟奇殺人事件が起こる。これまでのところ凶器は見つかっていないが犯人は被害者の首を切断し、頭をかち割り、脳味噌を取り出す。それを何かに使うのだけれど、私の口からはとてもいえないおぞましいことだ。本書では誰の心にも潜む「悪意」に焦点が当てられている。その悪意に自制が効かなくなり、膨張していったらどうなるのだろうか。悪意を多角的に捉えているのがミソなのだろう。上下巻９００ページにわたって、いろんなドラマが積み重ねられていくのだが、中にはチープなエピソードも含まれている。登場人物たちの内面が一面的で稚拙なところもある。クライマックスも思ったほどインパクトがない。アイディアが突出しているものの他が疎かになったか。

昔、映画・ドラマ化したのは知っていましたが、具体的な内容は知りませんでした。
今回、何となく気になってたので、予備知識無しで読んでみましたが…。
貴志裕介の「黒い家」の様なミステリを期待していたらなんとSFホラーではないですか。
てっきり、猟奇殺人事件を追う物語かと思っていたので少しビックリ。

とは言え、かなりスピーディに進む大変楽しませてくれます。
物語の底辺にあるのは「黒い家」と同じように「一番恐ろしいのは人間の心」と言う事でしょうか？
とにかく、私は映画・ドラマも見て、続編であるアナザヘブン2も読まなくてはならなくなりそうです！
