単行本は９３年に上梓。アンジェリーナ、バルセロナの夜、彼女はデリケート、誰かが君のドアを叩いている、奇妙な日々、ナポレオンフィッシュと泳ぐ日、また明日・・・、クリスマスタイム・イン・ブルー、ガラスのジェネレーション、情けない週末の１０の佐野元春の楽曲にインスパイアされた、同タイトルの１０の短編からなる。歌詞の言葉がちりばめられたり、プロットの下敷きになっているが、何れも主人公の日常と隣り合わせの不思議な体験を綴った小川ワールド的短編集となっている。原曲の世界との距離感は読む人によって、曲によって違うと思う。どれも秀逸な作品だが、これらを著者に書かせた佐野元春の楽曲を知らないと、本短編集の、歌詞に潜んでいた世界およびその展開（どれも意表をつくものだが）に驚く面白さが減るのでは？　各曲の歌詞は掲載されているが、やはり音もこれら短編創作の推進力になったと思うから。

したがって、小川洋子と佐野元春両方のファンなら２倍楽しめるが、佐野元春の曲を聴いたことがないと、小説と音楽の響き合いが感覚としてつかめず、ちょっとつらいかもしれない。もっとも、曲を知らずに読んでも十分満足できると思う。

作品全体が佐野元春へのオマージュといえ、こういう形で小説に昇華させる著者の力量に感服するとともに、著者は幸せ者だな、と思う。
