2002年度アカデミー賞作品・助演女優など６部門受賞の話題の大作。
口絵にはのカラー写真がいっぱいです。
脚本から起こされた、キレとテンポの良い文章。
ミュージカル・シーンもあまさず組み込まれているのも素敵。
ロキシーの甘い歌声、ヴェルマのしなやかなダンス、ビリーの不適な微笑。
数々の映像が鮮やかによみがえります！

監督や脚本家の裏話、メインキャストへのインタビューも収録。
好きな映画がこういう構成の文庫シリーズ化してくれるといいなぁと思います♪

アカデミー賞の六部門を受賞した映画「シカゴ」の原作脚本と，映画に携わった監督，脚本家，俳優などのエッセイが収めされています．脚本の方は映画でもおなじみの，舞台女優2人と辣腕弁護士の3人の「悪」が繰り広げるどろどろした愛憎を描いています．エッセイの方には，もともとの舞台作品からどういう経緯で映画化され，映画化の際にどんな点に注意が払われたかなど，映画化の裏側を当事者の声を通して知ることができます．舞台脚本を書いたモーリン・ダラス・ワトキンスの逸話や，映画配役を選ぶ経緯，俳優達（レニー・ゼルウィガー，キャサリン・ゼタ-ジョーンズ，リチャード・ギア）からのコメントなどが書かれているのも面白い．
