フランスの奇才。ウェルベルの代表作。SFの形態を取りながら、深く人類とは何か？を探求した作品。彼のライフ・ワークである三つの疑問『私たちは誰なのか？どこに行くのか？どこから来たのか？』を、私たちと同じ地球に住む、別の視点を持つ『蟻』をもとに描いた作品。

特に、科学的な描写に優れ、映画を見ているような臨場感溢れる文体。まるで蟻の巣の中で起きている様々なドラマを見ているよう！感情移入しすぎると、蟻の巣を踏めなくなります！
ゆったりとした時間を心のトリップをしたいと願う人にお奨めです。

自然の法則と、乱れることのない秩序に従って生きる蟻たちの前で、ヒトの思惑とは何と愚かしく映るのだろう...。
三部作一気に読めます。

友達にすすめられて読みました。
こんなんありえないだろうと思いつつ、もしかしたら現実に起こってるんじゃ
ないかと思わせるストーリーです。

小泉八雲の怪談にも、蟻の話が出てきますが、コミュニケーションがとれない
だけで、人間以外に生物も独自の文明を持ってるんじゃないかと、想像が膨らみます。
