最近のホラー作品は読む上で、分子生物学とか大脳生理学とか精神分析学とか古代史などの専門知識を要するものが多い。もちろん、わからない人のために、それらの専門知識は作品の中でも解説されているが、その解説部分を頭にたたき込んでいるうちに、肝心のストーリーの方が頭に入らなくなってしまうことがある。その点『クリムゾンの迷宮』は、そう言った専門知識なしに読めるところが良い。

ある日、突然、凄惨なゼロサム・ゲームに巻き込まれてしまった主人公・藤木芳彦は、自分がいる場所も、ゲームの目的もわからない。パートナーとなった大友藍とともに、ただひたすら状況を把握し、謎を解き、最善の選択はどれかと悩みながら、ゲームの勝利者を目指す。二人は勝利者となれるか…。専門知識を一切必要とせずに楽しめる、ホラー・エンタテイメント作品。

「バトルロワイアル」、ホラー映画「CUBE」、「ソウ」
上記3作品を足したような小説。
これらが好きな方はきっと楽しめると思います。

面白い小説は多いけれど、これほど
先が気になって気になってしょうがない！
早くこの話の謎（結末）が知りたい！
という気持ちになったのは久し振りでした。

「黒い家」を読んだあとに読みました。だいぶストーリーのタイプが違うなと思い、こんなことあるわけないと思いながらも、自分も藤木という主人公と一緒になってグールから逃げているような気になり、一気に読んでしまいました。夜中に読み終わったあと、恐怖感と興奮が冷めず、眠れなくなってしまいました。　一人でいる時には読まないほうがいいかもしれません。　知らず知らずのうちに、作者の意図にはまってしまいます。
