せつないOLがよく捉えられていてよかったです。ぜひ、厳しい今の時代を生きているOLの人達に読んでほしいなと思いました。どこにでもある話ですが、うなずける部分がたくさんあり、OLの新人時代や２〜３年目を懐かしく思える作品です。

平凡な OLの深文が 主人公。仲よし三人組の一人、なつ美の結婚式からお話が 始まる。でも深文は 23才で 結婚する友人が 信じられない。しかもなつ美は 用意周到に、この人生計画を実践していっている。そのうえ、もう一人の親友、月子が その日、ハワイに留学をすると宣言。しかし、彼女は 逃避としてのハワイ行きである事を突き止める。順調に 見えた深文のその後が、色々と波立ってきて、どんでん返しの結末に。
本当に楽しく読みました。なぜって 何十年も昔の自分を 見る思いだったので。私がハワイに移住して 長い年月がたちました。けれど、ちっとも変っていない日本のヤングの日常。日本が 合わなかったら、どんどん海外へ出かけて自分の 可能性を試してね、と この本の読者、皆に呼び掛けたい。だって、日本が 変るのを待っているうち、あなたの 一生は 終わってしまうじゃないですか。
でも、山本文緒の 信条「どこかでなく、ここにある」という現実直視が できなければ、ハワイにも 幸せは 見つけられないでしょう。ハワイにも不満たらたらの人間が いっぱいです。山本文緒は 月子を 通して言っています。「生きてる人間が、天国に 住むのはつらいよ。あそこは 本当に なんにもないんだから」要は生きていく姿勢の 問題なのですよね。
世代の 差を 全然感じさせず、平凡な 日常を題材に ここまで旨く描けるこの作者に、大きな拍手を! おまけに私の 大好きな 北上次郎が解説で 大絶賛、作者の 人生の 投影を 感じるだけに、この続編は どれに当たるのかな。

主人公その他の登場人物が、みんな性格悪い気がしました。
でも、それは本当に「人間っぽく」書かれてあるからだと思います。
人間って実はみんなこんくらいドロドロした生き物だと思います。
自分がよければそれでいい、いやなことからは逃げたい。
そんな本音がありのままに書かれているこの話にはすごく共感できるところがあります。

登場人物みんなにあらゆるハプニングがふりかかるので、「この先どうっちゃうの！？」ってハラハラしながら読みました。
しかもこのハプニングってのが…いつか自分にもやってきそうなことだから余計にハラハラ。。。
