　僕は昔から水木しげるさんの作品群の大ファンなのですが、貸本まんが時代の幻の名作『墓場鬼太郎』を初めて読んだときの不気味さと爽快さの同居した独特の感覚は、今でも忘れられません。
　そこには『ゲゲゲの鬼太郎』に見られる人間贔屓のお人好しな鬼太郎はおらず、もっと妖怪らしい禍々しさを持ちながら、同時に人間臭い行動も取ったりする、実に魅力的な鬼太郎、目玉おやじ、ネズミ男がいます。
　しかし、驚かされるのは後年の『ゲゲゲの鬼太郎』の基本的なコンセプトやストーリー仕立てが『墓場鬼太郎』において既に出来上がっていたことで、鬼太郎に対する水木さんの思い入れの深さを感じます。
　復刻版が文庫化されたことで本書はより多くの人に読まれることになるのでしょうが、『ゲゲゲの鬼太郎』しか知らない今の子どもたちにも鬼太郎という存在の深みが伝えられるのでいいですね。

鬼太郎に、はまっている息子が買ってきた本である。
何気なく手に取ったが、面白い。
今のさわやかな鬼太郎ではない、リアルな鬼太郎がそこにはいた。
おどろおどろしさといい、話の展開といい、怪奇モノはこうでなくっちゃ。
貸本復刻版と銘打ってあるだけに、本自体の雰囲気もいい。
私が小学校に入るか入らないかという頃に、貸本屋は絶滅したと思うので、
貸本屋の記憶はないが、
ストーリーをはじめ、絵のタッチまで貸本の、というか
昭和３０年代の香りがそこはかとなく漂ってくる。
昭和３０年代を知りたい方には、「３丁目の夕日」よりも
こちらをお奨めする。

今の私には、ちょっと休憩するのには最適な本である。

誰もが知ってる鬼太郎といえば悪い妖怪を退治してくれる皆のヒーローでした。
ですが、この墓場鬼太郎は違います！
恩を仇で返す極悪な鬼太郎に変わっています。
最悪なのに何故か憎めない、そんな一面を持った新鮮味のある鬼太郎が見れました。
ネズミ男も相変わらず、と言いたい所ですが非道っぷりが３割り増しぐらいになってます。
最近の漫画に飽きてきた人にお勧めな一冊。
