久々にこれぞ文学！っていうか、これぞ小説！って本に出会えました。
ほんと素晴らしい作品でした。
読めば読むほど深い話になっていく。
単純なハッピーストーリーかと思いきや、
そんなものでは終わらない、底知れぬ現代人の闇を見事に描いている。

５５０ページにも及ぶ長編だけど、全然長いと感じさせない。
むしろ物語が進むにすれどんどん奥が深くなっていく。
この作品の奥深さはすごい。

この本はまさに、「ブルース」以外の何物でもない。音楽として聴くのでなく、「読むブルース」だ。生きた人間の、せつなさ、やるせなさ、狂おしさ、愛しさ、痛さが、すべて過剰なくらいに詰まっている。

作者の文庫版あとがきに、「重要なのは衝動だ。小説家になりたいという衝動ではなく、小説を書きたいという衝動だ」とある。多少の青臭さなんか、どうだっていい。読み進めるにつれて、作者の「衝動」に、どんどん引き込まれて、熱くなっている自分がわかる。なんとも、説明のしようがない。

友人にすすめられて、花村萬月という作家の小説を読んだのは、これがはじめてだが、とにかく、一度、読んでみてほしい。

すれたギタリスト「村上」。歌姫「綾」。ホモのヤクザ「徳山」。3人のアウトサイダーが奏でる哀しい旋律。

せつないブルースがよく合うせつない物語。
文庫本の帯に北方謙三氏が「たまらんぜ萬月　何が悲しくてこんな小説を書く」とありますが、まさにそのとおり。

「村上」のギター。「綾」の歌声。そして「徳山」の日本刀。
私は「徳山」がせつなすぎました。

花村萬月氏に興味を持っておられる方、氏のファンでもまだ未読の方星５つ以上の評価をしておすすめします。
