　鷺沢さんの本は、読後感がとてもいいと思う。この本も、読んだ後の心の中に、小さな暖かい何かが残る本です。作者があとがきで述べているように、本の主人公は落第生です。世の中には、もしかしたら"A"ばかりの人もいるのかもしれませんが、でも大体の人はどこかに落第点の"F"を持っているのではないでしょうか。この本は、そんな"F"を抱えた人たちが描かれています。彼らはそんな"F"を嘆き悲しんだりもするのですが、でも最後には、"F"な自分の手の中にある気付かなかった希望なり、幸せなり、に気付くのです。

　私が好きなのは、「忘れられなくて」という短編。「運命の人」だと思っていた男に去られた女性だったら、きっとこの主人公の気持ちが痛いほど分かるはずです。別れた男からの電話。何遍も何遍もそんな場面を頭に描いていた主人公は、実に鮮やかに「復讐」を果たす。とても痛快な一編でした。でも、男の人が読んだら「なんちゅう執念なんや!?」と思うかもしれませんね。

一所懸命生きているのに、何故か泥沼に入り込んでしまう主人公たち。なかでも「忘れられなくて」が気に入った。昔裏切った恋人からの連絡を待ち続けて、最後に浴びせたカウンターパンチ。なかなか爽快。

救いのある作品が好きだ。

昨今の風潮なのか、それとも変わらぬアウトロー的なものへの憧れなのか、
投げっぱなしで救いの無い不条理な物語へのニーズは大きい。
そしてそれらは時として非常に大きな評価を得る。

よほどみんな不幸に飢えているのかなと思う。
もしかしたら自分以上の不幸をそこに見出すことで安心しているのかもしれないとも思う。

いずれにせよ
作品を作る側からすれば投げっぱなしは楽である。

だからと言って
やたらと現実離れした偶然のもたらす幸福を喜べるほど若くは無いし
ピュアでもない。

納得のいく不幸があって
そこには何ら信じられないような幸運は降ってこなくて
それでも救われた気分になれる、そんな作品はすごいと思うし、大好きだ。

この作品集はそのとんでもなく難しい基準を軽々と満たしてくれている。

もうちょっと生きてやろう（私にはまるで自殺願望は無いが）と
思わせてくれる作品集だ。
