このシリーズ、青春小説っていうけど、
人生のすべてがあるよ。

活字慣れしていない僕が５日もかけずに一冊の本を読むのは驚異的だ。本屋で何の気なしに手にし、ぱらっと中身を見て、｢面白そうだ｣と｢グミ編｣を読み始めて一ヶ月も経っていない。
カワボンが｢ダメじゃない！ダメじゃないって言えよ！｣と賢三の胸ぐらをつかんで言うシーンを読みながら泣きそうになった。本を読んで涙が出そうになったのは初めてだ。
確かに前２作に比べ、あり得ない展開へとシフトチェンジしていったのは事実だ。ただ、そのありえねー展開の中に確かに人生の真理、生きることの難しさ、素晴らしさ、ヒントが詰まっている。作者が｢チョコ編｣のあとがきに書かれていた「登場人物の全てを幸せにしたい」という姿勢が全面にうかがえる。そしてこの作品にはそんなラストがふさわしい。
素晴らしい作品です！

高校1年で文庫版のグミ編・チョコ編を読んで早2年。やっと文庫版パイン編が出て真っ先に読みました。グミ編チョコ編の悶々とした童貞少年の行動は思わず「そうだよなぁ〜・・・」と共感するのにパイン編は爺さんとの格闘シーンなど「そうなのか!?」と思わずにはいられないシーンが多かった気がします。あまり急ぎすぎずにパイン前編・後編とかで出したらもっと共感してたかもしれません。

前作から前々作とは打って変わった支離滅裂な三部作完結編です。
主人公のくどいくらいの葛藤を励ます脇役たちのキャラクターが絶妙で面白かったです。
