何年も前に映画化されすごくブームになった本なので読んでみました。
読んでいくうちにひきこまれ、最後まですいこまれるように読みました。ただ、ラストがやりきれない。あ、読後感が悪いということじゃありません。悲しくてやりきれませんでした。
あと、女性には読みづらいレイプがでてくるけど、そこがちょっといやだったかな。

映画を見てないので、何の先入観もなく読みました。ここでは特に刑事や探偵が事件を解決するのではなく、主人公の味沢が事件を追っていく。にも拘らず、重要人物として警察が追っているのはこの味沢。途中、運命の女性と出会えた味沢だったのに、彼女が殺されてしまうところはすごく悲しかった。最後はほっとしながらも、無念というか残念。真実は闇に包まれてしまうのか。

週間文春1977年　総合3位。

自衛隊特殊部隊にいた過去をもつ男、味沢。味沢を中心に、保険金殺人、恋人の殺害、隠蔽されてきた町ぐるみの不正が、過去におきた寒村の大量殺人とからんで、次々と解決されていく。

ラストの味沢が野生を爆発させる瞬間と、それを幇助した刑事の理由が納得できない。作品はおもしろいので、ここはとても残念。
