5.0 out of 5 stars 映像が目に浮かぶ、生き生きとした描写, 2003/6/29
私も、まだ映画を見ていませんが、読んでいるだけで、映像が目に浮かび、緊迫感が伝わってきて、ラストシーンは、ドキドキして一気に読めないほどでした。さすが、荒俣さん、想像力を刺激する文章の書き方をしますね。もう、脱帽です。背景になる歴史を知らなくても、年表がついているので、混乱することはありません。それより、映画でコン・リーが演じた趙姫（ちょうき）のしなやかな強さが印象的。女性が自分の行き方を選び取るのが不可能だった時代に、自分の生き方を貫く趙姫は、ドラマティックです。そして秦の始皇帝の栄華の裏に、こんな弱さを秘めていたなんて・・・歴史の裏にあるラブストーリーや欲の物語など、登場人物の感情が生き生きと伝わってきて、中国史ファンだけでなく、誰でも楽しめる作品です。映画も、絶対観たいですね。

挿し込みの映画の写真を見ながら、主人公と照らし合わせて読みました。何より、主人公「ちょうき」の生き方が素晴らしくて、同じ女性の私があこがれました♪
最初は表現と名前の読みに慣れずに文面がわかりきれなくてイラついたところもありましたが、慣れてくるとそれぞれのキャラクターや生き方、歴史の背景がとても壮大でロマンチック♪

読んだ後、この本の世界に陶酔しちゃいました。
女性にも男性にもぐっと来る本だと思います、戦闘シーンも息を呑むし、男女の愛情についても映画では表現しきれない心理描写があって引き込まれました、ぜひぜひ映画とプラスアルファで読んでほしいです！
